Built For baltimore.

Viale has been years in the making.

Our story started on Key Highway in South Baltimore, where we transformed an old gas station into our first restaurant. For three and a half years, we served Neapolitan pizza and Hawaiian-style shave ice to neighborhood families, friends — and even a few Orioles along the way.

For us, it's always been pretty simple: make really good food, take care of people, and make sure everyone has a good time.

Now, we're bringing everything we loved about that first chapter to Viale — our new year-round home in Hampden.

WHy Viale?

Viale means “avenue” in Italian — a little nod to exactly where you'll find us.

Hampden's 36th Street is known simply as The Avenue, one of Baltimore's best-known neighborhood destinations. We're just off of it on Chestnut Avenue, bringing our own spot to the neighborhood.

Come hungry. Bring your people. We’ll see you on the Avenue.

KATE & MACK

Kate & Mack met at the Ottobar in 2017 and quickly realized they shared a dream of opening a business together. Mack, a Baltimore native, studied culinary arts in San Francisco before building a career in fine dining and as a private chef. Kate grew up outside D.C. and eventually made Baltimore home. After building their first restaurant together on Key Highway, they're starting their next chapter with Viale in Hampden.
